- Indoor-cultivation only. No plug spawn, sawdust spawn, log inoculation kits, or books.
- Narrower kit lineup than competitors. Seven single-species grow kits visible (Pink Oyster, Shiitake, Lion’s Mane, Grey Oyster, Chestnut, Black Pearl Oyster, King Trumpet); Blue Oyster, Yellow Oyster, and Pioppino were dropped from the kit catalog, with Yellow Oyster appearing fully delisted.
- Same 5 species for both liquid culture and plate culture — Blue Oyster, Grey Oyster, Lion’s Mane, Pioppino, Reishi. No LC or plate available for Shiitake, King Trumpet, or any other oyster.
- 10% restocking fee on non-defective returns. Long non-returnable list includes kits and bundles, all sterilized grain and substrate, petri dishes, pressure cookers, FLOCUBE flow hoods, Max Yield bins, and live cultures.
- US-only shipping in practice. International orders are referenced in the returns policy but aren’t selectable at checkout. Alaska and Hawaii fall outside the $75 free-shipping threshold and incur extra fees quoted individually.
